September Admissions to Reception Class

If you wish your child to join our Reception class in September then a common application (online or paper form) must be submitted to the Local Authority.  Forms will be available from your Local Authority during the month of November the year before your child is due to start school.

There are a number of criteria for admission to our Reception class and these can be found on the Essex County Council website or on this website.

A Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must also be submitted to the school and can be downloaded from the Essex County Council website, from this website or can be obtained from the school office.

All children start in our Reception class in September; we do not have a staggered intake.

The timetable for the September 2020 intake is as follows:

October 2019 - 15th January 2019 Visit the admissions website and read through this booklet, find out about and visit schools.  It is important to consider how your child will get to school.
11th November 2019 Online application facility opens.
15th January 2020 STATUTORY NATIONAL CLOSING DATE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS, INCLUDING ONLINE.  The online application system will be closed after this date.
15th January 2020 CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF SIF FORMS BY THE SCHOOL. (in school office)
16th April 2020 OFFER DATE.  Local Authority will send determination letters to parents of all eligible children living in Essex.
April 2020 to
September 2020
Local Authority maintains waiting lists for all schools and fills any places that become available.  Any questions of problems should be raised with the Local Authority - the school is unable to assist with these.

Mid-year Admissions, or admissions to other year groups

Parents and carers of children who wish to join the school, in any class, at any other time of the year should telephone or visit the school personally to enquire if there are any vacancies in the required year group, make an appointment to view the school and discuss the admission application procedure.  A mid-year application form must be then submitted to the Local Authority.
