Remembrance Day 2024

The children have been learning about Remembrance Day which is coming up on Monday 11th. They have been learning about what the red poppy represents as well as what and who the white, purple and black poppies are used to remember. Each class has prepared something to display outside the school (on the railings) as we mark this important day.

On Monday we will be remembering the fallen soldiers with a two minute silence on the playground and the class 6 children will be meeting Reverend Julie at St Paul's Church to remember those who were lost in the World Wars from the Parish. Armistice (Remembrance) Day is a poignant day and it is important for us to remember all those who were involved and those who lost their lives. Our school council have been selling poppies throughout the week raising valuable money for The Royal British Legion.
