SEND
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Here at Bentley St Paul's C of E Primary School, we believe all children have an equal right to a good education and learning experience, we have a committed staff, selected for experience, knowledge and aptitude for working with pupils with SEND and dedicated to the wellbeing of each individual. As a small one form entry school we are able to ensure that all staff know learners exceptionally well. We take a whole school inclusive approach to pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND), recognising that all children should have equal access to a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum. We put plans in place to meet learners’ holistic needs as well as academic ones and have strong, close working relationships with outside agencies and professionals. Children have individual learning programmes (One Plans), care plans and all pupils identified with additional needs have a provision map outlining how we can best support them in school.
We have the support of local authority specialist teachers who have a wealth of experience in areas such as: Autistic Spectrum Disorder, learning and communication difficulties, physiological and neurological impairments, visual impairment. We currently have access to an Educational Psychologist who may make observations and meet with parents.
All our staff are up skilled and receive training through our CPD programme based on the current needs of our children.
