Creating nouns using - ity suffix

This week we will be learning how to change adjectives to nouns using the -ity suffix.

For example: product = productivity

sensitive = sensitivity

When the –ity suffix is added, the ‘e’ from the end of adjectives usually disappears.

sensible = sensibility

When the suffix is added, the ‘le’ from the end of adjectives usually disappears and its replaced by ‘–ility.

‘Curiosity’ is an exception to the usual rules and a word that you must learn to spell as it is a Y5/Y6 statutory. spelling word.
