Well come back. I hope you all had a lovely Easter Break.
I can't believe we are now in the summer term.
Our Class Value in year 1 is forgiveness.
Bear with each other and forgive one another. If any of you has a grievance against someone, forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Welcome back to the Summer term. Yeah, hopefully, the sun will be out more so we can do lots more learning outside.
I can't wait to see you again!
We have had a lovely first week back at school, all the children have been great.
We made an igloo using paper mache on Friday, and I would love the children to finish this on Monday.
There will be painting and printing and then evaluating their work at the end to take home on Monday.
Please remember the spelling test will continue every Friday as well as a maths test (depending on ability, the test is to allow me to see what I need to do for your child).
Once again, thank you for all your great work, and thank you to all the children for all their hard work during the lockdown.
This week it is not only National Story Telling Week but also Children's mental health week.
Please have a look at some fun activities and support ideas in the tabs below.
WELCOME BACK TO THE SPRING TERM
I hope you have all had a good Christmas and New Year!
This spring term begins online, so please ensure that you are able to log into Teams before we start lessons on Tuesday.
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any problems and I will try and help.
Some of the lessons will be live, while others will be pre-recorded.
Worksheets and PowerPoint can be found on the class 1 page.
Monday 12th October. A morning message
Here are the activities we will be completing during the final week!
There is no set order for these so complete them as and when, and if your child is returning to school do not worry about completing any of these activities as we will be completing them in school
Handwriting - Have a look if you are having a go at cursive writing at home!
I've found an example of a home-schooling timetable which you might find quite useful to follow - of course it is completely up to you how you run your day but in case you want some guidance here is an example of a more structured and unstructured day (I can't seem to upload the pictures so the link is attached
Hope this helps!
Attached to the site is a picture for the Phonics Play website - this is a brilliant website that we use daily to teach phonics, and also where I get most of my planning from. Please if you can take advantage of the membership offer and explore the website as the children are very familiar with this and it will help them to keep their phonics knowledge going! We are focusing mainly on phase 5 however if you would like look at the phase 3 and 4 sections that would be beneficial as well.
Love Mrs C
WOW! What a week! It has been a very unsettling week at school for both children and staff, however your AMAZING children have dealt with it brilliantly (as they do everything!) and I feel so so privileged to be their teacher, and hope that we will be reunited before the summer holidays
I have uploaded the first weeks work, with the letter and topics of the week attached as 'week 1'. I have tried to make it all as simple and self explanatory as possible, however as we are all learning please let me know if there are any ways in which I could make it easier.
I will be uploading every Friday ready for the following week, and have provided our class email address which I will be looking at between 9-3 Monday to Friday (or if the children want to send me anything random then amazing, I will most likely be sending photos of my dog and cats!)
Finally thank you all so much for the unexpected cards and gifts, they are not needed as it is a joy teaching your children but so appreciated.
See you all as soon as I can and email me anything you need,
Love Mrs Chapman
