Each week we have a different spelling pattern or sound focus. Below are the overviews for the autumn term. Whilst there are lists of suggested words that use the weekly focus, we do not give the children a spelling test on those words, instead we spend the week learning the rules around the pattern or sound. These activities generate a number of words, some may be on the list and some may not, and we learn how and when to apply the rules in our written work.
