It allows the child to refer to them as and when needed, helping them to clarify their thinking, develop their independence and promote their self-help skills. The resources should be a mixture of concrete and pictorial - things such as pasta, building blocks, number lines, pictures of 2D shapes are just a few examples of things that can be used to support learning and deepen your child's mathematical knowledge further.
