Can I perform a forwards roll in my sequence?
This week we will be going over how to do a forwards roll and how we can incorporate these into our sequences which include travel, balance and a jump.
Please don't try this without an adult to help you out. Practice stretching up tall, then curling down low into a tuck position. Tuck head in, hands on the floor about shoulder width. Practice bunny hops to get used to putting weight onto hands. When more confident, t try getting their hips higher, but still keeping their legs bent in a tuck position after kicking off. When ready, with support hands on each hip to support neck & get hem used to taking all their weight on their hands, practice going over. Tips to remember, keep head tucked in, chin on chest, keep legs neatly tucked in after initial kick up and try pushing your hands forward rather than push off the floor to get up afterwards!
